Pepper Spray

What Pepper Spray Does

The pepper spray you want is oleoresin capsicum, or OC, rather than tear gas, either CS (2-chlorobenzalmalnonitrile), or CN (phenylcyl chloride). I learned this from an instructional book about pepper spray that you can get for only $4.25 and free shipping here.

Oleoresin capsicum is the oil from hot peppers which make the peppers burn. This compound is oil, or fat soluble. That\'s why when you burn your mouth with too many hot peppers, a drink of milk or a bite of ice cream cools you off; the fat in the milk dissolves much of the pepper oils and take them away from your palate. One time, I had been slicing jalepe├▒os and handling them, and rubbed my eye but hadn\'t washed my hands. If you want to get a taste of what it feels like to get pepper sprayed, do that! If you think this stuff burns your tongue, know that your eyes and nose are WAY more sensitive than your mouth!
